Goals in either half from Chris Roberts and Kieron Moore give Buckley Town the victory and made it three on the bounce as the good run of recent form continues.
Buckley had the best of the first half as they and the wind kept Holyhead mostly pinned into their own half. It only looked as if there would be one scorer in the game and Buckley and especially Jake Roberts looked like being the one that would break the deadlock. Unfortunately for Roberts, the post was not his friend and he hit it on more than one occasion throughout the game. If the post did not save Holyhead their keeper did.
The deadlock was broken, as it often is from a Buckley set play. Aled Bellis put in a cross from the left corner flag where Callum Humphries was the first runner across the box. He did not rise to meet the ball and let it fly over his head for the incoming Chris Roberts who slid in with a neat finish to make it one nil.
In the second half, with the wind at their backs, Holyhead began to make a game of it. Joe Makaruk in the Buckley goal had to make save after save to keep Holyhead at bay in the first 15 minutes of the half. At this point Buckley manager Dan Moore had seen enough and changes were made on the hour. On came the duel threats of Aron Williams and Adam Eden which allowed Buckley to raid from the flanks. That said, Holyhead still looked dangerous on the break but the game was ended as a contest when Kieron Moore was fed by Jake Roberts on the left edge of the 18 yards box. He cut across and fired a neat finish into the right corner.
Again, Buckley closed the game out well and they have now moved up to 6th position in the league following their recent good run of form.
Next up are the League leaders Airbus Broughton UK. The two sides played out a highly entertaining game at the Globe earlier in the season and we expect the same next Saturday on the artificial surface of the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.
