Gresford Athletic and Buckley Town shared six goals in an entertaining 3-3 draw at Clappers Lane.
Buckley had the best of the first half hour and penned Gresford into their own half where they had to defend set play after set play. It was from one of these that Jake Roberts opened the scoring for Buckley after fifteen minutes, when following his own corner kick Gresford cleared their lines only for the ball to fall right back into Roberts path. He whipped a cross back into the box where Lewis Hone had gotten ahead of all the Gresford defenders and was able to steer the ball off his fringe into the far corner.
Gresford raised their game and began to get themselves back into it. Jordon MacCarter levelled for Gresford just before the break with a well taken strike that left keeper Joe Makaruk no chance.
Gresford started the second half much the brighter whilst Buckley were still in the changing rooms. Yet it was Buckley that went ahead courtesy of a Lewis Hone goal. Jake Roberts was again the provider from a corner kick that Hone rose highest to and powered his header down and past Gresford keeper Ben Jones.
Then Gresford had Jack Chaloner dismissed for a second bookable offence but the ten men looked more than able as they managed to score again when Jordon MacCarter grabbed his second of the game and then Sam Molineux put them in front with only eight minutes remaining.
Buckley then took the game to Gresford as they desperately looked to get themselves back on level terms having let the lead slip from their grasp. Five minutes from time Jake Roberts continued his recent run of scoring to grab his second of the game with a fine strike on the turn and levelled the game.
