Weekend Preview

Manager Dan Moore in his weekend preview said, “After our poor performance against Rhyl, we’re looking for a reaction from the players going into a vital Welsh Cup fixture against Denbigh Town on Saturday.

Looking at the bigger picture, it’s probably to be expected to have periods of games go the way it did on Saturday with a relatively inexperienced squad at this level, so the key now is to ensure that we take Saturday’s result as a harsh lesson.

Denbigh have a good group of players and we are in for a tough game; we’ll prepare well for the game this week, we’ll be looking to get back to what works well for us and what has got us to where we are.”

Buckley Town Vets 2 Caerwys Vets 1

Buckley Town Vets overcame their league rivals Caerwys Vets 2-1 to move onto the next round of the NEWFA Vets Cup.

Buckley Town went 2-0 up in the first half through two Colin Pugh goals (great effort since he has been out for number of months and has only just returned).

The weather then turned foul in the second half and Caerwys were able to pull one back. Buckley then weathered the storm and managed to see out the game as winners.
