Buckley Town 2 Llanrhaeadr 4

A great start to the game saw Buckley take a two-goal lead with set-piece goals from Callum Humphries but then defensive complacency set in from the 40th minute onwards allowing Town to concede four goals without reply.

Connor Littler hit the upright in the second half but Llanrhaeadr’s keeper had little else to do in the half as Buckley created nothing to trouble him in what was a very poor all-round performance.

Llanrhaeadr YM FC 2 Buckley Town FC 0

Buckley Town dominated this game with Llanrhaeadr YM from kick off to final whistle yet came away from it with nothing.

With key players missing through injury, suspension or illness Buckley found it difficult to break down a big and physical Llanrhaeadr side on a pitch that destroyed any chance of Buckley’s free flowing passing game being able to come to the fore. Instead it became a battle of attrition as either side found it difficult to put together more than two passes on a rutted playing surface with grass ankle deep. In fact, the only visible sign that a lawn mower had been anywhere near the pitch was to cut the pitch markings around the ground so that they were visible with the naked eye and allow the pitch marker to roll over the surface.

Buckley’s only real clear-cut chance of the game came in the second half when Callum Humphries flicked on a cross with his head that bounced onto the top of the bar and away,

All in all, a game to forget and we can now look forward to the visit of Bangor City to the Globe next Saturday in the reverse of our opening day fixture.
