At the Globe, there was very little New Year cheer for Buckley Town’s fans.
With Buckley enjoying most of the play in the first half they conceded a soft goal when Buckley’s defence just stood still and allowed Llangefni to score at the back post following a crossed in ball from the right.
The second-half started brightly with Buckley pressurising Llangefni. However, a ball out of defence down the right-wing was crossed perfectly for a simple tap in to make it two-nil for Llangefni.
With Buckley still pressing, Llangefni’s rear guard soaked up all the pressure. Then with Buckley just missing a golden chance to score, a route one pass out of defence gave Llangefni their third goal. Three chances, three goals
Credit to Llangefni. Their defence was well organised, they gave little away and they limited Buckley very well despite them having the majority of the play throughout the game. Overall it was a very disappointing performance by Buckley and they will now hope that with a run of games they can build some consistency in what has been a stop-start season for them. With games in hand, they have a chance to move away from the bottom of the league, meaning that the points on offer become all-important.
