Goals in either half from Daniel Sullivan and Thomas Creamer saw Rhyl take the spoils and it is they that know move forward to meet Connahs Quay Nomads in the second round next Saturday.
Buckley Town were poor defensively and had no real cutting edge up front to break Rhyl down. In fact, there were few notable chances in the game as a whole but what there were fell Rhyls way, with the first a header from a set play and the second a fortuitous miss kick that fell into Thomas Creamer’s path and clear in on goal.
Much to work on then for the players and the coaching staff, prior to the first league game of the season against Porthmadog on the 24th August, as we will need to improve greatly on today’s performance if we are to prosper in what is the strongest line up of clubs at Tier two-level for many seasons.
