Buckley Town were made to work hard for their victory today by a Chirk side that came to get something out of the game. It was a close affair at Holyhead Road earlier in the season and so it proved today with Buckley taking the spoils with a solitary goal scored by Shaun Tinsley during the second half.
Buckley have played 3 games in 5 days, won them all and as a result top the table on goal difference from Brickfield Rangers in a period that could be crucial in our season and the push for the league title.
Manager Dan Moore said, “Extremely proud of the players, we’ve ended the week with 9 points from 9, after playing 3 games in 5 days. This Saturday’s game was tough, the weather, the opposition, the third game in a week. It was great to see us find a way to win, we dealt with everything they threw at us; long throws, balls in the box, set pieces. It wasn’t pretty, but we stood up to it and kept yet another clean sheet. Every player put a shift in and their commitment is unquestionable, they are playing for each other, and for our club. I thank our supporters again for showing up, and ask them to please stick with us over the next few weeks, we’re doing everything we can to achieve our aim, which is as always, to win the next game. It was fantastic to have our Under 7s at today’s game, they are the future of our club and we hope they enjoyed their day with us”.
