Buckley travelled down the M53 to Wallasey to play Ashville FC at their Villa Park ground on a much cooler and blustery day than of late in what turned out to be a competitive but a low scoring affair.
Buckley probably had the best of the days play as Ashville rarely if at all troubled Tom Douglas in the Buckley goal as Callum Humphries, Rob Jones, Luke Douglas and Dylan Roberts managed to break up anything promising that Ashville tried to throw at them. Buckley looked the more likely to score with Ryan Jones holding the ball up well and using Adam Eden and Shaun Tinsley to good effect to break into the oppositions penalty area. That forced Ashville back and they conceded corners or throw ins that allowed Buckley to put the ball into the box and put them under pressure.
The only goal of the game came direct from one of those corners when Aled Bellis whipped in a ball that curled on the wind, with Rob Jones and Callum Humphries crashing in at the back post the ball found its way through the melee and in off the post.
