Buckley Town looked lively from the start and were the better side for the majority of this Flintshire derby at Cae y Castell. They created chance after chance, especially in the first half but simply could not turn their dominance into a winning position.
Aron Williams and Adam Eden gave their opposing full backs a torrid time as they simply could not live with their strength and pace down the flanks and they delivered the opportunities for their team mates but Buckley simply could not calve out the chance that ended with the ball in the back of the net.
They never really got the luck their endeavour deserved. The second ball never really fell their way for that decisive strike and that was the difference between a comfortable victory and a narrow defeat. Flint took the two chances that presented themselves in the second half and Buckley would be right to feel hard done by. On another day they would have won the game comfortably but as we all know football can be a cruel game. If you do not finish when you are on top you pay the price.
