Buckley Town enjoyed another win against Saltney Town at a ‘home’ tie played at Airbus Broughton UK’s Hollingsworth Group Stadium due three games being played at the Globe in five days on what is still very heavy pitch due to all the bad weather recently.
The 3G surface allows Buckley Town to play their slick passing game and Adam Eden scored a great solo goal early in the first half that set the tone, followed by Luke Blizard reacting quickest in the box following a well delivered ball from a corner. Another great solo goal from Aron Williams made it 3-0 and Buckley took that lead into half-time.
Saltney converted a penalty early into the second half to make it 3-1 but goals by Jake Roberts, Adam Eden, and Roberts again put the tie out of sight.
Saltney did pull back another to make it 6-2 but Adam Eden scored again late-on to complete his hat-trick and the 7-2 demolition of Saltney. It could of been more if Eden, Aled Bellis and Aron Williams had converted the chances they had when in on goal but a seven goal scoreline helps the goal difference meaning we have topped the table tonight. Saltney beat Buckley on the first day of the season and shows how far Buckley Town have progressed since then.
Buckley will look to cement that lead with a win at the weekend when they face Chirk AAA at The Globe whilst rivals Brickfield Rangers have a tricky away match at Llanuwchllyn.
