Matty Roberts | Get well soon

Everyone at Buckley Town sends our best wishes to our former left-back Matty Roberts and hope that he recovers soon.

Matt was out on Thursday running but suffered a suspected cardiac arrest. He was found collapsed and unconscious by passers-by. He is currently in hospital recovering, is now awake after coming round but has been heavily sedated. He is responsive and would seem to be on the mend.

Matt is a local lad from Mynydd Isa and represented the club for many years and well known in local football community having also played in the Huws Gray Alliance for Mynydd Isa, Mold Alex, Holywell Town, and FC Nomads.

Get well soon Matt.

Mold Alex 5 Buckley Town 1

Mold Alex gained the bragging rights in the Reserves derby match at Alyn Park with a 5 -1 victory.

The sides went in at the half in a well-balanced game that saw both sides have their chance to take the lead, most notable being Tom Gunson’s miss from the penalty spot and Adam Eden hitting the post before Alex took the lead for 1-0.

Lewis Hone was then sent off very early in the second with a straight red card and the whole momentum of the game swung in Mold’s favour. Buckley quickly found themselves 4-0 in rapid succession before going 5-0 down.

It was not until the 87′ that Josh Jones found the back of the net for a Buckley consolation.
