The 2004-05 season saw Dave ‘Pixie’ Taylor step up from Assistant to Manager taking over from long-time club servant Simon Sedgwick.

With Buckley having cemented their position at the top of the Cymru Alliance over the past few seasons, Pixie was able to attract a number of quality players from the surrounding area. Few managers locally had his extensive knowledge of those available to play at this level and he put together a squad that had strength in depth.

The team took time to gel and by the halfway point in the season they were only sixth in the league. Then something just clicked and as confidence grew within the group they went on an amazing run that culminated in winning the Cymru Alliance League for the first time in the club’s history.
