A keenly fought out derby ended in Buckley Town rueing their missed chances that cost them the game and a valuable three points in their attempt to claw back ground on the clubs above them in the league.

Mold gave a spirited performance in a game no one expected them to win but for those of us who have followed Buckley Town for any length of time know, any game at Alyn Park is a tough ask. We rarely do well there and so it was this evening. Buckley had much of the game but Mold took their chances when it mattered whilst Buckley squandered theirs.

Ryan Tierney scored a volleyed goal when the ball dropped to him after being cleared from a corner and Danny Warren scored the second for the Alex when Buckley got caught sleeping at the back with Warren neatly finishing when through 1 on 1 with the keeper. Try as they might Buckley could not break Mold down and they held out till Buckley striker Jake Roberts finally manged to get what was a consolation goal near the end.

Great game for the neutrals in front of a 150+ crowd but one that may prove costly for Buckley in their attempt to win the league.
